CLASS CAMPS AND EXPERIENCE WEEKS

Our classes take part in a camp or an experience week each year. In some cases, classes combine for their outdoor education experiences. We utilise a range of venues, giving our students experience beyond the school. Camps have been held in locations such as the Hawkes Bay, Omokoroa, Raglan, Rotorua - to name just a few.

SKI TRIP EXPERIENCE

Every year, around 20 participants are given the opportunity to spend a week skiing at the Whakapapa skifields, on Mount Ruapehu. The trip caters for children of any skiing ability, but children who have never skied before get real enjoyment and satisfaction from the trip.

The package we offer includes all ski passes, ski hire, mountain transport, accommodation, food, a ski lesson, and transport. The places for this trip fill up quickly, so it pays to register your interest early. The cost for the trip is approximately $680.

SAILING

Learn to Sail is an awesome opportunity available to 12 students during Term 1, and is offered again to another group of students in Term 4 each year. Held at Lake Ngaroto, at a cost of $180, this includes seven Friday afternoon sessions on the water with a qualified instructor. All gear and equipment is provided.

We also offer a one day Sailing Experience in Term 4, where another group of  our students can experience Sailing, with the team from Te Awamutu Yachting. This is held at Lake Ngaroto as well. The cost of this experience is approximately $45. The cost includes hire of the equipment, instructors and a great lunch.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Twice a year our students have a chance to go Mountain Biking in the Redwood Forest in Rotorua. Trips are offered in both the first and fourth terms. The cost of approximately $65 includes transport, bike hire, instructors and lunch.
